Delaney's Birthday Recap

Delaney had a great birthday yesterday (except for the fact that she pretty much refused to talk to anyone on the phone that called to wish her a Happy Birthday).

We started the day out by watching a few of her favorite TV shows. Then I let Delaney open a gift from Grandma Barb and Grandpa Don that included a Toys R Us gift card. We then went to Toys R Us and picked out some special birthday gifts using her gift card. Since Delaney is now a big fan of the old Scooby Doo cartoons, she picked all Scooby Doo toys. Coincidentally Scooby Doo, was Chris's favorite show when he was little, so Delaney was very excited to take these toys home so that she could play with them with Daddy.

Then after lunch, Delaney had a surprise lunch date with Daddy. (If you look closely, you can see her new stuffed Scooby Doo, came to lunch too!).

After lunch we came and spent time playing with her new toys and playing outside. Pretty soon Daddy came home from work and we celebrated some more by having pizza (Delaney's favorite!). And then it came time to open presents.

Posing with all her gifts...

Here she is checking out a Sleeping Beauty wand to go with her Sleeping Beauty costume.

Checking out a new DVD...

Showing off her new Super Why toys to Daddy...

And then after presents we had cake. Delaney wanted an ice cream cake this year, so we bought a cake at the store instead of making one at home.

(And yes, I am aware there are technically 5 candles on this cake and Delaney only turned 4!)

And lastly, here is Delaney showing off her ice cream cake and Hello Kitty cakepop. I also made Bakerella's Hello Kitty Cakepops for Delaney's birthday. If you have never seen Hello Kitty Cakepop's before, click here, to check them out. They are really cute and kind of like a cupcake on a stick.

And thanks again for all the well wishes and calls on Delaney's birthday yesterday. Maybe she'll be a better sport next year and actually talk to people on the phone who call to wish her a Happy Birthday!
