Air Show

Delaney, Kylie and I went to a "Scout" Air Show Preview today. The event was open to all Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and we were invited to check out some of the planes that will be flying at our local airshow this weekend.

But before I get to the Air Show pictures, can we have a moment of silence for Delaney's hair that took me FOREVER to curl yesterday?

The pretty hair only lasted for a few hours before we had to wash all the curls out (TEAR). Today was Crazy Hair Day at school and Delaney was convinced she needed to go to school with lots of braids today, so the curly hair had to go.  :(

The braids didn't last too well at school though and by the time I picked her up this afternoon, half of her braids had come out. So since we had to go to the Air Show straight from school, I quickly unbraided the rest of hair and threw it up in a ponytail. (I'm only pointing this out, so you don't wonder why Delaney's hair looks so dreadful in these pictures!)

So, we got the air show and got to check out just a few of the planes that would be performing this weekend.

Several stunt planes where parked in one hanger for all the scouts to check out. The pilots were very nice and told all the kids about their planes and let them look at them. Many of the pilots also handed out glossy pictures of themselves doing aerobatic plane moves to the kids which they autographed.

Delaney was very excited to see the Jelly Belly Plane since we saw it perform at the Salinas Air Show 2 years ago! And even more exciting was the pilot of the plane was handing out little packages of Jelly Belly's!

This pilot let Delaney use the triggers in his plane to control the flaps on the plane's wings. Delaney thought this was really cool.

And as we were leaving this helicopter landed super close to us and practically blew us away. Which also was very exciting for Delaney.

Last weekend was the Castroville Artichoke Festival and Chris spent a lot of time getting his semi all detailed and pretty for the parade. And here's the final product...
