"32" and a Hollywood Night

I turned 32 yesterday. My parents were in town to help out after my eye surgery and I had a nice time celebrating my birthday with my family here. We actually did my main birthday celebration the night before my birthday. Delaney had a Girl Scout Father Daughter Dinner and Dance on the night of my actual birthday. Chris originally told Delaney they couldn't go to the event because it was on my birthday. But I told them to go anyway and that we could celebrate my birthday the day before.

I don't know if you can tell from these pictures but I cut over 4 inches of my hair off earlier in the week...

This was the first birthday celebration in a long time that Kylie was actually awake and not grouchy during. She had a good time playing with all the trash (i.e. wrapping paper and empty envelopes).

Grandma Peggy helped Delaney make me this cake.

Then on my actual birthday Chris and Delaney went to a Girl Scout Father Daughter Event with a Hollywood Theme. Delaney wanted to wear a fancy party dress and high heals to the event. Grandma Peggy went out and bought this dress for her to wear and found a pair of little kids shoes with a chunky heel. Delaney was in heaven because she thought they were "little kid" high heels (when in reality they weren't even close to high heels).

Oh and for the record, I didn't like those black tights with that dress but Delaney was insistent she wanted to wear them. And they looked better than the white bobby socks she wanted to wear with her "high heels" in the first place!

They had volunteers at the event giving the girls manicures and curling their hair. Delaney thought this was great.

I actually thought it was funny that Delaney willingly let this lady curl her hair. Grandma Peggy curled her hair before they left the house and it was a big ordeal and Delaney got bored half way through and claimed she never wanted her hair curled again. I guess it's more exciting when your Mom and Grandma aren't the ones trying to curl your hair.

 

They also had craft stations where Delaney got to make a hair clip and a wrist corsage that she got to wear that evening.

Delaney had a great time at this event and can't wait to go back next year.
