Delaney is playing in an all girls fast pitch softball league this season. Last year she played t-ball on a co-ed team. Delaney didn't like playing with the boys so she wanted to be on an all girl team this year.
Last Friday, the softball league had an opening ceremony and Delaney and her team got to march carrying their banner. (And yes, my picture is a little blurry but I had to stand on my tippy toes and hold my camera over a fence to take it, so it was the best that I could do!)
Then on Saturday, they had their first game. Luckily Delaney is still young enough that they don't keep score at the games, which is nice.
This league is a little different than the one Delaney played in last year. Each player is given 3 opportunities to hit a ball thrown by their coach. And if they can't hit any of the balls, they bring out the tee. I'm really proud of Delaney because she went up to bat 4 times and only had to use the tee once.
